More at https://minimalphoto.com/prints/animals-wildlife/beautiful-eye-of-a-cow/ Cows, beautiful creatures who patiently bear their sad destiny. It is not right that we eat their bodies in bulk and drink their milk when at least in here, in the Western world, we have so many alternatives. Why don’t we at least guarantee them a dignified and nice life? Why do cows in cowsheds and slaughterhouses experience so much suffering? Sure, the term “humane killing” is contradictory. Nevertheless, I think their suffering can at least be minimized. In the future, we will certainly disgust the way our ancestors treated animals. I believe that we will eat less meat and we will treat animals more humanly.
That is why I am always pleased to see livestock walking freely on pastures. And on one such meadow was created this photo. The meadow is located just outside Prague. I was here to take pictures of a row of trees that stood on the horizon. Before that, however, I set off on a random road a little further from the city and stopped there by a fenced pasture with cows.
As soon as I came up to the fence, a few cows rose and came to me. They were beautiful. I stroked their heads and talked to them for a few minutes. Then I took a camera with a 90mm lens and started taking pictures of their beautiful eyes. I was fascinated by their calm, sincere and friendly look. And so were they. Or at least it seemed like that.
From the series of photos I took that day, I chose this one. The eye of the cow is beautifully sharp, has a captivating expression and I also like compositionally. In addition, a dark cow has long white hair on her head and a light coat around her eyes, which makes these parts even more accentuated. You can buy a photo printed on paper, canvas, wood or acrylic board and hang it on your apartment wall.
