Description
A beautiful white egret (white heron species) at my favourite place - Lítožnický pond in Dubeč on the outskirts of Prague.
In this photograph I tried to combine two genres. Wildlife photography and abstract photography. I pointed the camera with the telephoto lens on a beautiful white heron on the opposite side of the pond, focused and then moved the camera down ever so slightly. But I still couldn't get the result I wanted.
Then I tried reversing the technique. I focused on the heron, pointed the camera down, pressed the shutter button and moved the camera up during the exposure, stopping when the heron appeared in the viewfinder. So part of the exposure was done while moving the camera and part while focusing on the heron.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
