The Latin name of this plant is Sedum reflexum or Sedum rupestre. But it has also a lot of more poetic names. As Wikipedia says, this plant is called “reflexed stonecrop”, “Jenny’s stonecrop”, “blue stonecrop”, “stone orpine”, “prick-madam” or “trip-madam”.
This is my first macro photography, which I dared to offer as a wall art print. I took this photo with a Tamron 90mm macro lens and even though I set a higher f-number of f9.0, the photo has a very shallow depth of field. I took the photo so that only the tips of the needles were sharp and the rest was wrapped in a beautiful bokeh.
I decided to convert the original color photo to black and white, because it makes all shades of gray stand out and also the lines look more pronounced. I must admit that I have long considered this decision. In the color photo are the needles beautiful green and their tips have a red tinge. But I think I finally made the right decision.
Hi, my name is Martin Vorel and I'm a photographer from Prague, Czech Republic. >>> MARTINVOREL.COM <<< I actually started taking pictures at the age of 13. I enjoyed it, but it was too expensive for me at the time of 35mm films. I started to take more pictures at the one-year internship in Mongolia in 2006/2007. Since then I love taking pictures. ...minimalist photos of nature, landscape, and architecture
