Description
A minimalist photograph of a snow-ripple that created a graceful curve. More at https://minimalphoto.com/prints/landscapes/snow-wave/
I took this black and white photo in the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše) in the Czech Republic. Specifically, on the way from Horní Mísečky to the mountain chalet “Vrbatova bouda”, which is located directly on the top of the mountain “Zlaté návrší” (Golden Hill) at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level. The sun’s rays penetrating through the trees created beautiful shadow patterns in the snow. From time to time, small trees and twigs peeked out of the snow, complementing the game of light and shadow perfectly. As I hurriedly packed the camera to catch up with my family, which had disappeared in the distance, I noticed on the other side of the road the beautiful snow dune you see in the photo.
I put a 90mm lens on my camera, knelt in the snow and took pictures like crazy. My knees were completely wet in a while, but I knew that I managed to take more than an interesting minimalist photograph.
