I took this picture on a family holiday in the Giant Mountains (Krkonose) in the Czech Republic. I took a “day off” from my family duties, packed up my camera, a couple of lenses and a tripod and set off for the hills around our cottage. Around the Benecko village are not very large mountains, but rather smaller hills. This made it easy to get to their bare peaks.
When I saw this fenced pasture on one of the hills, I immediately saw the potential for an interesting photo. First I took a lens with a wider focal length (35mm on APS-C) but I still didn’t like the photos. But then I put on a lens with a focal length of 90mm and went a bit further. And suddenly the photo looked much better. So I put the camera on a tripod, calculated the correct aperture, and using the remote shutter I took some pictures. During the photoshoot of this minimalist winter landscape, the owner of the farm in the offroad even stopped by me, thinking that I was a fence repairman 🙂
